Tessa is a clinical psychologist with over 15 years experience working with children, young people and adults.
Tessa has expertise in conducting assessments for the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia and Youth Court of South Australia. She has a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of family relationships, including the impact and management of trauma, mental health difficulties, family violence and drugs and alcohol misuse on the parenting of children. Tessa is passionate about ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and their families.
Within therapy, Tessa remains client-focused utilising evidence based strategies including Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Tessa’s therapeutic interventions are always tailored to an individual and/or family’s needs.
Tessa has undertaken training in Australia and the USA. She has a Master of Psychology (Clinical), Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and Pacifica Congress and is an endorsed Psychology Supervisor. She is also a current committee member of the SA Branch of the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health (AAIMH).
